Data Protection and Insolvency Practitioners

In two days, the new legislation regarding the protection of personal data will come into force, specifically Regulation 679/27-Apr-2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) issued by the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament.

The way this new legislation is enacted leaves no doubt about its applicability to an important socio-professional category in Romania, namely insolvency practitioners, who, from the moment of their appointment, come into contact with multiple personal data.

To provide a brief familiarization for insolvency practitioners with the new regulatory framework, together with a well-known insolvency practitioner, I have prepared an informative material.
